why waterproof fabric?
It allows you to stay dry and enjoy your activities in comfort. Do not have to worry about getting wet!
how does it work?
It is made possible with a very thin layer of membrane underneath the fabric which facilitates these function:
Breathable- The pores of the fabric are 700 times larger than a water vapor molecule which means perspiration passes right through. This is what makes the membrane breathable Waterproof- The microscopic pores on the membrane are 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet, which means water droplets can’t pass through. Windproof- The volume of air that passes through one cubic foot of fabric in one minute (cfm) is 1.0 or less, creating a truly windproof membrane. |

These membrane are either made up of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) . With the presence of PTFE or TPU, it allow the fabric to be waterproof and breathable because of their unique characteristics.
Types of waterproof fabric
Waterproof fabric can be either be in 2-ply or 3-ply. 2-ply consist of a outer fabric, membrane and an inner lining whereas 3-ply consists of a outer fabric, membrane and laminate.
